“Energy use has to be aligned with building activity.” That sounds simple, but in commercial buildings the people responsible for energy are not always the people who see how a building starts, stops, and operates every day. Now Washington is asking thousands of buildings to take a much more active approach to energy management, and there simply is not enough capacity to solve that challenge one building at a time through the traditional model. That is why we built Student Energy Managers.
We pair students with experienced professionals and put them to work on real buildings, real data, and real compliance responsibilities. Building owners gain the additional capacity they need today, while students gain paid, meaningful experience that prepares them to become the energy and building professionals our communities will need tomorrow.
